Johnstone Spiritualist Church makes donations to various charities through events and collections.  Here is some information on how we have helped Charities & the local community.

In January 2012 we donated £50 to the Yorkhill Children's Foundation, a hospital that helps sick children in Glasgow.  We collected this money through some of our church services and are happy to support such a worthy cause.

In November 2011 we fundraised £486 through an Evening of Clairvoyance with Jane Dawson, Genevieve Bailey and Steven Scott with oor Willie Nicol doing readings.  We also had singing from a very young talent Gabi.  Our congregation also donated home baking, sandwiches, raffle prizes and hot food towards the fundraising.  Cash for Kids Scotland were delighted to receive their donation and thanked us profusely for the effort that was made by everyone on the night.

In September 2011, we fundraised £132 shared between JSC and the East Africa Famine Appeal through our night of Music & Mediumship.  Big thanks to the mediums Sandy Campbell, Elaine Ireland, Jane Dawson and Genevieve Bailey, plus singing also from Steven Scott and Amber Alexander.

In August 2011, we raised £245 for the Disasters Emergency Committee - East Africa Appeal through church services and donations in the month.  The extensive droughts and famine in Somalia and Kenya touched all our hearts as conditions worsened.  Big thanks to the mediumship of Margaret Beattie, Robert Cairnie, Jane Dawson, Angela Strang, Glad Taylor and Garry Cooke.

In April 2011, we raised £242 for the British Red Cross and the Japan Tsunami Appeal, through an eveninig of mediumship.  There were a number of mediums giving a demonstration of life eternal and reunited many with their loved ones in spirit.

In December 2011 we collected £42 through our church meeting and donated it to the Pensioner's Christmas Dinner at the United Services Club.  We felt that supporting the local community when times were extremely difficult, was very important.  www.usclub.co.uk

In June 2010, we held another evening of mediumship in aid of the Royal National Institue for Blind People and raised £117.90 through donations and entry to the evening.  This charity was very close to our hearts at that time, as our co-founder had suffered a stroke in the eye and had lost some eye sight.

In April 2010, we held a Joint Charity Psychic Night in aid of The Dogs Trust and Johnstone Spiritualist Church.  We raised a total of £400 which was equally split between the the Dogs Trust and JSC.  We were then able to get the church up and fully running and facilitate a move to the United Services Club, from the Town Hall after opening 2 months prior.
